I've seen a lot of osprey in a lot of various places, but this encounter, although it may look ordinary, was rather special.
I tried some bird calls (whistles) and to my surprise, the osprey cocked its head, ruffled its feathers, bobbed its head from side to side, and whistled back!
The talk between us went on for a solid five minutes. While I had no idea what we were talking about, the osprey seemed to be enjoying the conversation.
It was an incredible moment. My only regret, was that I didn't bring a more powerful lens.
